Week of November 16:

Namasté

This is a very interesting word to me because it is associated with both a definition and a gesture. Placing your palms together with fingers pointed upwards in front of the chest in combination with a head bow is the gesture associated with this word and can also be performed wordlessly while holding the same meaning.

This word has slightly different descriptions in various geographical areas and from different scholars, which makes it mysterious in some ways. I remember hearing the word for the first time and thinking what a beautiful sound the syllables made, especially when following a prayer in the flow of Divine communications.

In everyday life, namasté can be considered a religious salutation. However, namasté is a Sanskrit term which can also be understood to mean "I respect that divinity within you that is also within me."

The act of namasté unfolds on three levels: the mental, physical and verbal. "I honor the place in you where spirit lives, the spirit in me meets the same spirit in you." Namasté recognizes the duality that has existed in the world and suggests it's an effort on our part to bring these two forces together, ultimately leading to a higher unity and a non-dual state of oneness that pays honor to the sacredness of all.

Let's check in with the angels on the word namasté:

The sounds made by words like this evoke a unity through tonal unison. Like Om, there is a connection with Divine Source when evoking energy from the sound. When voices speak this in unison, with actions or through intentional energy, a balance of peace can exist.

If you are seeking the meaning of true ascension of consciousness through intentional living, words like this will find their way into your heart, voice and being. Teaching love means teaching others the meaning behind such energy.

Words and gestures can bridge gaps between people and unify cultures in unique and meaningful ways. Think of how you can change the world with raised consciousness, with simple greetings and departures that acknowledge the Divine Light in everyone. This could represent an exercise in teaching and raising vibrations through energetic connectiveness.

Through this practice of acknowledging the love and light in yourself and others, you will help bring understanding, the light of truth and the shift in belief that is being presented to everyone on the planet as you expand into the unique thread that connects all living matter. Awaken to the wisdom in the reflection of life through namasté.

Bring joy, ease suffering and create beauty, then dance like you mean it!
                       Blessings, Russell
