Week of May 10, 2009:
Self-image
Our self-image of who we are in this
world is very important and could be defined as a crucial
aspect in regards to discerning and realizing our life path.
This is one judgment or perception that is totally in our
hands and could sometimes spell trouble. Seeing the truth
around who we are can present many challenges and stir the
heart with the emotional critique spoon.
Love from our parents and the way
that was expressed can be a major factor in shaping our
self-image. Therefore, the parental figure provides a
reflective surface upon which to view the way we look at
ourselves. Breaking a self-image held from childhood can
present blocks and resistance for the adult with issues in
the area of self-esteem.
Anytime another person abuses their
power with you, they take some of your power and that
affects your self-image. That is why abuse victims really
struggle in this area, and when I say abuse, I include
mental, physical, and emotional. Each person has a role in
these types of life events, so it becomes a personal and
private responsibility to discern the truth in order to gain
the proper perspective. Maybe the angels can help with the
perception of truth around the subject of self-image:
In order to see the truth and
project that energy to others, it is wise to engage in an
overall process of releasing illusions and half-truths.
Forgiveness directed in the mirror is one of the key
ingredients in this process that allows you to remove
energy that affects perception.
Since the ego forms and delivers thoughts and ideas that
may attack your self-image, it becomes equally important
in the process to reclaim your power as a way to reinstate
your integrity. By making amends, opening the heart,
accepting the true self and placing yourself in the Divine
flow of your life path, you can shift your self-image to
one of pure love and unconditional belief in who you are.
Since you are the only one with a judgment in this area,
your spirit vibrates with your perception. Happiness, joy,
love, compassion and inner truth depend on the choices you
make in the area of self-image, with the driving energy
emanating from this concrete base of your belief system.
If you hold an image of your self that is condemning, how
can others go against that alignment? This leads to
self-destructive patterns and a focus on the untruth of
your existence. In order to overcome this energy, you
simply need to focus on faith and your strengths as a way
to reject ego judgments.
You are created in the image of love, and this image holds
the truth and the simplicity around who you are and why
you are here. Align your soul with this image to heal past
hurts, to accept the sweetness and bittersweetness of
life, to experience love to the fullest and to express to
others the light that is found within you.
Bring joy, ease suffering
and create beauty, then dance like you mean it!
Blessings, Russell
