Protection
I have been asked about this subject
a lot lately, which has sparked deep inner reflection and
many requests for discernment from a Divine source. My
problem with this word is the way it relates to the fear
energy and all the various ways others use that energy to
lead us to believe that we need protection.
Protection means the act of
protecting, or the state of being protected; preservation
from loss, injury, or annoyance; defense; shelter; as, the
weak need protection. "On life's journey faith is
nourishment, virtuous deeds are a shelter, wisdom is the
light by day and right mindfulness is the protection by
night. If a man lives a pure life, nothing can destroy him."
~Buddha. This quotation and definition perfectly display the
dichotomy that surrounds the meaning of this word.
Let us count the ways that our
culture has formed the co-dependency that has evolved around
the need for protection. Almost every aspect of life on
Earth has an insurance rider attached. Government has now
assumed the position of world protectorate, which in
international law means an autonomous territory that is
protected diplomatically or militarily against third parties
by a stronger state or entity.
And it wouldn't be right to leave
personal protection and all that represents, such as
protecting the heart, out of this word study. I will try to
find a safe place to engage in lifting the veil for a
whisper on protection:
When you leave the energy of
illusions behind, the word protection does take on new
meanings. Fear breaks down faith, which can create a
closed door to your emotions and the way you express them.
People and circumstances can fuel a need to build a wall
around your heart out of a perceived desired for
protection. Over time, this can separate the entire body,
mind and spirit from the full presence of life.
The way that you protect yourself from the dangers of life
needs careful discernment in order to ensure these ways
are serving to you and others. Social ideas around
protection have alienated many people with tendencies
toward isolation as a vehicle to remove vulnerabilities,
which in turn, affect community.
The truth is that taking rational steps and using common
sense are all that is needed in the area of protection.
The illuminated being rests in the peace of knowing that
everything is in Divine order when facing the duality of
life. Energy depends on the polar opposites creating a
movement. The open heart and mind see the truth around
protection and discern needs associated with that energy.
Have the courage to remove barriers that serve as false
protection. Embrace faith to experience everything that
life has to offer. See through the eyes of compassion to
open the door to your heart and the hearts of others. Live
in the safety of knowing that your ideas around protection
are anchored in the true light of the Highest Power as you
nestle into the comforting and nurturing arms of the
angels.
Bring joy, ease suffering
and create beauty, then dance like you mean it!
