Essence
In the search for understanding, I
often reduce things to the very essence or the heart of
the matter. It is interesting to me how my immediate
response in thought forms around the word essence went
straight to the heart. My focus on this word emerged from
a moment of deep internal perspective on life and what we
call death.
Essence is used as a noun that means
something that is, or exists; entity. The essence is that
which makes something what it is; intrinsic, fundamental
nature or most important quality (of something); essential
being. In philosophy, essence refers to the inward nature of
anything, underlying its manifestations; true substance or
the indispensable conceptual characteristics and relations
of anything.
During a moment of stillness, I
tried to connect to the essence of who I am, and in the
process began speaking directly to my spirit or soul. Who or
what am I without the physical body? And is that an energy
that forms my essence?
In a fate-filled moment, the essence
of one of my relationships turned on a dime, only to create
several opportunities for myself and others. This required a
shift in my psyche to be able to not only see, but to
embrace my opportunities. Without that shift, my beliefs
might have held me back from forming a deeper bond in this
relationship. No matter how I define it, the result touched
me at the core of my essence
George Bernard Shaw once said, "The
worst sin toward our fellow creatures is not to hate them,
but to be indifferent to them; that's the essence of
inhumanity". Maybe the essence of an angel will deliver a
whisper on the subject:
Everyone is tuned to a
different frequency and that determines many aspects of
their essence. With each group of like resonance, there
are colors, vibrations, sounds and movement patterns that
somewhat determine the core traits of the individual and
help form compatibility with others through familiarity.
This serves as a foundation to community.
As each incarnation offers growth opportunities, the
physical experience communicates levels of development and
ascension to the essence. This illuminates a path filled
with experiences that offer spiritual awakenings to reach
the deepest level of the soul or energetic essence until a
completion of attunement has been reached.
The body, mind and spirit can work in harmony to bring
peace to the essence when judgment becomes understanding,
forgiveness becomes commonplace, when love finds no
conditions, when grief becomes acceptance, when enemies
become brothers and sisters, and ultimately when there are
no barriers between you and the Highest Power.
To taste the essence of your life, simply allow joy, love,
happiness and the highest vibrations to move throughout
the body like the tides of the ocean. Know that an ebb and
flow represent balance and wholeness around your
experience as integration into your essence and as a
reward for your efforts to embrace your place in the world
today.
Bring joy, ease suffering
and create beauty, then dance like you mean it!
