Week of November 8, 2009:
Commitment
After last week's whisper on
indecision, I made a choice on this week's word and now it
is time for a commitment (tee hee). Commitment is defined
as the act of committing, or putting in charge, keeping,
or trust; consignment; esp., the act of committing to
prison. As you know I like quotes and this one by Margaret
Mead is no exception: "Never doubt that a small group of
thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world.
Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
Commitment usually relies on focus,
personal sacrifice and some aspect of taking charge in order
to accomplish some task. Feeling guided into a commitment
can make it easier for me to fully extend myself in any
situation. This week I followed that guidance to find a high
level of commitment in a process that seemed to take me off
the path. At times it seemed irrational to spend my energy
in a direction that, on the surface, appeared to remove me
from my mission. Ultimately, though, the result was a
feeling of being divinely blessed for having stood firm with
my commitment.
There have been times when I had to
back off a commitment and found it difficult to overturn my
mindset, even though it was the smart thing to do. Some
unusual sense of honor overcomes me during times like that
and I am working through that (lol). I committed to writing
these 'Angel Whispers' and, in some way, so did the angelic
guides. Let's look for a nugget of information on the energy
found in the word commitment:
The Universe will expand with
every personal sacrifice that you make and to some, this
can bring in fear of the unknown. It takes courage,
patience and perseverance to accomplish goals in life, but
the rewards of fulfilling commitments bring eternal
satisfaction to the soul. This energy of success in the
area of commitment rewards and supports self-love in a way
that feels nurturing.
Before making your commitment, it is always wise to
discern who or what is being served by your actions and to
answer the question "Is there purpose?". Perception and
ideas of what it means to make a commitment can lead to
indecision, passive or negative behavior patterns, and
missed opportunities. It is important to have clear focus
on the commitments that are in alignment with your core
truth, which will place you in the flow or vortex of
energy that represents your highest vibrations.
When you follow guidance into a commitment, you have shown
faith in a Higher Power. By assessing your personal
commitment to life, you can set priorities that will
ensure the highest quality found in the journey. Then by
committing to those priorities, you will lessen the
stress, anxiety and resistance that may stand between you
and your joyful success. The commitment to love always
fills the heart with warmth and leaves you feeling
complete.
Bring joy, ease suffering
and create beauty, then dance like you mean it!
Blessings, Russell
