Week of November 29, 2009:
Surrender
Surrender is such a magnificent
word in the way it delivers a broad meaning with a range
of emotions, from humble and loving to being controlled
and resigned. It seems to take some a large measure of
control to allow myself to surrender. Yet when I recently
set strong intentions to work through a process without
the energy of control, the result was a beautiful
surrender that helped to increase my energy in terms of
availability.
As a witness to the natural order of
life, it seems that the final journey is a complete
surrender at the deepest levels. The type of surrender
needed at the time of one's passing is the truest form of
letting go. Webster defines surrender as resignation,
acceptance of despair, giving up, a verbal act of admitting
defeat or the agreement to forgo to the power or possession
of another.
There goes the neighborhood with all
the control features that bring a negative concept to the
word surrender. "Change is the essence of life. Be willing
to surrender what you are for what you could become." That
quote by an unknown author better describes the surrender
that I have known lately (tee hee).
The part that needs work in this
area for me seems to be in the perspective of surrendering
that leads us to believe that we must give up, give in or
accept an alternative. But when we surrender everything
except our heart's truest desire, then maybe we have just
cleared the way to manifest those desires into dreams. I
will raise my arms in surrender to the energy of an angel
and a whisper on the wings of change:
The human experience offers a
variety of opportunities designed to support spiritual
growth through learning. It requires an open heart and
mind to become masters in the areas of your passion and
interests. One single inhale can bring in knowledge that
allows you to surrender a thought or belief through the
subsequent exhale. This speaks to the natural ability to
create change within each person.
Complete surrender of illusions and false teachings can
result from taking the higher perspective. Mankind's
fascination with climbing the great peaks around the world
stem from the desire to see from this perspective or to
rise above. When your view of the 'big picture' is
unobstructed, so are your thoughts and energy, which can
then help you direct energy toward a solution or answer to
the questions in life. The solution could be as easy or
simple as finding acceptance.
As you surrender to the fact that truth as an integral
part of Divine light and spirit, you are opening pathways
to pure love and peace. Great strength lies in your
ability to surrender and move beyond the limitations that
are generated from the beliefs of others. In other words,
when you surrender the energy of control, you have just
taken the initiative to rise above in order to see the
highest potential.
In the moment of eternal surrender, your spirit
experiences freedom that has been erased from your memory.
That is why you practice the art of surrendering.
Bring joy, ease suffering
and create beauty, then dance like you mean it!
Blessings, Russell
