Week of January 3, 2010:
Disappointment
The holiday season offers many
opportunities to feel disappointed. Between the stress,
time off work and a busy social schedule full of
gatherings, it is relatively easy to build illusions.
Disappointment can be defined as the emotion felt when a
strongly held expectation is not met or the idea that you
have been defeated or disappointingly unsuccessful. Henry
Ward Beecher gave us some insight with this quote: "One's
best success comes after their greatest disappointment."
The psychological effect of feeling disappointment can
hold devastating results that sometimes carry a passionate
response leading to an internal search for answers. When
things don't quite work out the way we planned, questions
around faith, spiritual empowerment and even the meaning
of life can be brought into full focus. This can
ultimately lead to experiencing spiritual growth.
It is easy to say that by lowering expectations we can
avoid disappointment. Yet how is that accomplished without
the loss of hope? If the focus is on the highest
potential, there could be disappointments and let-downs
that bring harsh criticism from within. The perspective
found in disappointment ultimately affects the outlook on
success, decision-making and life itself. Don't disappoint
me now, angels (tee hee); please give me a whisper on this
meaningful word:
People and situations will
always offer the opportunity for disappointment, which is
a natural and normal response. These vibrations can remove
you from your core alignment in an instant, so this is one
emotion that you should really give attention. Within the
energy of disappointment you will find a treasure chest of
understanding and a road map to spiritual empowerment.
Disappointment requires and almost demands that you take a
look at the situation from a higher perspective. Without
some level of understanding, the challenges of accepting
disappointment spread into the minutia or the details of
life. These challenges can result in removing you from
your heart by giving importance to thoughts that are
missing substance in truth. Being out of balance or
alignment is a symptom of resting too long in the energy
of disappointment. Ego judgments can take over during
prolonged periods of unresolved disappointment, and this
represents a downward spiral into the lower vibrations.
Faith builds hope and creates understanding around the way
the world works. Your total acceptance or surrender is
better served outside the feelings of any measuring of
success whatsoever. Acceptance and understanding around
the sweet and bittersweet is the duality that reflects the
truth of your existence. By raising your consciousness,
you will limit the effects of disappointment, which will
help you create action steps that will fulfill and enhance
the realities of life on Earth.
In one moment of disappointment, you can discover the
truest light needed to illuminate your pathway to a
purpose-driven life.
Bring joy, ease suffering
and create beauty, then dance like you mean it! Blessings, Russell

Dearest Russell –
I just needed to say hello and send you such gratitude for
putting me on the list to receive your Angel Whispers that you
do for everyone each week.
There is so much I get from them, and they especially ring
true as a message I am needing even when it doesn’t seem that
way at the beginning – there is always one!
But often times many!!!
Such Divine perfection!
