Honesty
The world stage was set for the
Verizon Heritage Championship Golf Tournament being played
at Hilton Head, South Carolina, and at stake was first
prize, worth more than a million dollars. Brian Davis was
playing the first hole of a playoff with Jim Furyk to
determine the winner. When Davis' ball landed in a rough
area, he made his shot and then called himself for
violating the rules.
When a PGA official reviewed the video tape of his shot,
it was confirmed that Davis had touched a single reed on
his backstroke. The result was a two-stroke penalty, which
cost him first place and more than $400,000, the
difference between a first- and a second-place finish!
Although the touch to the reed was almost indiscernible
except in slow motion, Davis did the right thing even
though he wasn't completely sure of what happened.
The sport of golf is built on the premise that people
officiate themselves, and in that light there was nothing
unusual with this situation. But to thousands of young
people, this man displayed a sense of honesty and honor
rarely witnessed in the world today. Some school students
claim to have never seen such honesty from an adult!
Role models have let our children down repeatedly over the
last few years, and it does the heart good to see a model
for honesty. I have to believe that Brian Davis will reap
the rewards of his choice many times over for standing in
the light of a single moment of truth. Let's see what an
angel might whisper on the breath of such honesty:
The world needs examples of
truth, integrity, honesty and conscious living. The
truth is always known by the heart, and any betrayal of
those emotions solicits a response from the Universe.
Have you noticed that Karma seems to be instantly
delivered in this New Age?
The children of today are bright and clear channels that
easily read emotions; therefore, you cannot hide things
from them. They will know truth on an energetic level
like never before and in a framework that does not allow
for compartmentalized justifications. There are no more
grey areas, only a chilling barometer that accurately
meters truth and lies.
Honesty shines a bright light in a day and time where
the truth has gotten lost in a maze of interpretation
that spins story after story lacking essential
truth-giving information. It is the children who will
bring focus on truth and integrity, so engaging in lies
and empty promises will have consequences giving way to
the larger meaning.
Be honest with yourself and refrain from building
illusions. The truth can support a freedom to experience
the joy that life has to offer. Honesty begins in the
quiet space of your inner self and expands into the
Universe with increasing momentum that offers a voice
that speaks to the Higher Self and to the process of
evolution.
Evolve and ascend on a single beam of light known as
your truth, in order to experience the deepest levels of
love found in simply being present.
Bring joy, ease suffering
and create beauty, then dance like you mean it!
