Cats
If you are one of my friends on
Facebook (if not, send me a friend request), then you may
have seen the stories about my neighbor's cat whom we call
Stubbie. Stubbie appeared at our doorstep one day during the
time that my father was making his transition and insisted
on coming in the house and getting in my lap.
We have never fed or watered Stubbie. Her motivation was a
social one, with unusual habits that include the ability to
open our screen door and walk right in. The folklore around
the Stubbin Manx is that when the rains became heavy, Noah
became impatient with the cat and closed the door to the Ark
on their tail. This breed has no tail or nerve endings to
indicate it ever had a tail, and apparently Stubbie does not
like it when you go to close a door either (tee hee).
Some think the breed evolved from a bobcat, and Stubbie's 16
pounds of female furry flesh and large clawed feet are an
intimidating reminder of the forces found in the wild. Her
breed is known as the 'dog cat' and for good reason: Stubbie
will follow you around, lie at your feet, growl at strangers
and even bark a little (lol) as she truly lives up to the
breed's reputation.
After a friend made the comment that Stubbie was a Zen
Master with her all-knowing eyes and attitude, I started
writing "The Continuing Adventures of Stubbie" on my
Facebook, and now she gets more friends and attention than I
do! She showed up and comforted me at an important time in
my life, so I wrote a song for her called "One Conscious
Stream," as a testament to her loving presence. Let's get a
whisper from an angel on cat energy:
Cats have earned their place in
the domestic animal kingdom because of their unique
abilities and uncanny senses. They teach lessons around
independence, self-sufficiency, sensuality and detached
love, while simultaneously showing you how to land on your
feet in a crisis.
Cats have an inner sense and completely trust their
instincts in a sometimes extreme fashion in order to
display nature living life to the fullest. Rarely do you
see a cat with a broken spirit because they know how to
deal with adversity, often choosing the people or
environment they prefer to be around.
As you hold and pet a cat, you can feel the essence of a
lion and the warmth and playfulness of a kitten at the
same time. Fiercely independent, there is a determination
and dedication to survival that comes with strength in
bringing focus to the task at hand and combines that with
the embodiment of the energy known as free will.
Cats can tune into energy and give you information if you
are willing to receive. Watch a cat around someone's
passing and you will know the meaning of these words. The
steady purr of a cat is one language that everyone
understands as a transmission of pure love!
Bring joy, ease suffering
and create beauty, then dance like you mean it! Blessings, Russell

Dearest Russell –
I just needed to say hello and send you such gratitude for
putting me on the list to receive your Angel Whispers that you
do for everyone each week.
There is so much I get from them, and they especially ring
true as a message I am needing even when it doesn’t seem that
way at the beginning – there is always one!
But often times many!!!
Such Divine perfection!
